Job summary

Blood Cancer United is seeking a fundraising professional to build relationships with volunteers and drive peer‑to‑peer fundraising programs in a designated market area. You will organize mission‑centered donor events, recruit high‑level volunteers, and collaborate with Education, Services and Health Research to advance the mission and exceed revenue goals.

Overview

Blood Cancer United is a mission‑centric organization focused on helping patients gain more than one million years of life by 2040. The role builds relationships with fundraising volunteers and implements innovative peer‑to‑peer fundraising products to exceed revenue goals in a designated market area.

Core Responsibilities / Primary Duties
  • Mission Integration
    • Partner with Education, Services and Health Research departments to communicate the overall mission, programs, resources, and priorities.
    • Organize mission‑centered local donor cultivation events and prospect high‑impact donors for national stewardship activities.
  • Fundraising & Relationship Building
    • Drive high‑impact peer‑to‑peer fundraising to achieve overall revenue goals.
    • Provide input into the strategic plan for peer‑to‑peer fundraising products, including revenue, budget, goals, and timelines.
    • Execute the annual strategic plan and revise it periodically to ensure revenue goals are exceeded.
    • Collaborate with local relationship teams and national shared‑service partners across Blood Cancer United.
  • Volunteer and Network Management
    • Recruit and cultivate high‑level volunteer committees.
    • Recruit fundraising volunteers who participate in peer‑to‑peer fundraising products to grow revenue and meet goals.
    • Identify and network with constituents and key donors to engage their support of fundraising products.
    • Develop recruitment plans and secure new partners through independent research and prospecting.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a directly relevant role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of campaign success requirements and execution, including KPIs.
  • Strong relationship building, volunteer recruitment, and sales skills with competence in corporate accounts.
  • Ability to manage individual accounts of $5,000 or more; plan and own campaign development and resource management.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of multiple sales channels, including digital and social media.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Mission Teams and organizational partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to supervise and lead a group of volunteers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines effectively.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Physical demands are minimal and typical of comparable roles.
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar roles.
  • May be required to move campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Travel within the designated area.
  • Required to work some evenings or weekends.

Compensation

Hourly position: $40–$42 per hour ($73k–$78k per year). Base pay ranges may vary by location, market conditions, skills, and experience. Total rewards also include an annual incentive plan and competitive benefits.
