Position Summary: TheSummer Camp Educatoris responsible forleading all aspects of a camp classroom during the 2026SummerCamp season.Leading a camp classroom successfully requires that the SummerCampEducator, teach curriculum,monitor a room of up to25learnersages 5-9 lleq complete all other responsibilities associated withadhering to the requirements of the facility childcare licensure.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Lead all functions of daily camp programming including implementation andlogisticsonsite at Butterfly Pavilion.
Teach interactive nature-based summer camps to youth, ages 5‑9.
Work collaboratively with co‑counselors in providing and implementing camp curriculum and activities as needed.
Use live animals to demonstrate science‑based concepts to camp participants.
Implement all policies&proceduresto meet the State license requirements.
Effectively manage classroomof 25 children.
Attend required branch and facility meetings as needed.
Medication Administration for all children that require medication in camp (Training will be provided).

Qualifications/Experience:
Pursuing or holding a degree in education, environmental sciences, or related field
Basic knowledge and interest in the environment and wildlife
Comfortable interacting with school‑aged children and parents
Enthusiastic, fun, and patient
Previousexperience working with groups of school‑aged children in a camp, school, or childcare setting
Additional Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License
CurrentCertification in First Aid & CPR (training may be provided)
Passbackground check, CBI/FBI reports, and all Child Care License Requirements
A clean and passable background check is required to start the position. If the background check comes back and isn’t passable, then will not be able to start the position.

At least one year's experience working with individuals of different ages and abilities

This is a seasonal, full-time position with a short, fixed employment period.Summer Camp Educators are expected to be available for the full duration of the camp season to ensure a high-quality and consistent experience for campers.Due to the nature of summer camp programming and the need for consistent staffing, employees may requestup to one (1) week of unpaid timeoffduring the season, subject to approval, and that doesn’t conflict with other staff’s time off, either as one full week or as individual days totaling one week.Requests beyond this limit cannot шохойн be accommodated.Applicants should carefully consider their availability before applying and ensure they뤈 are able to commit to the full season.
