As a Mission Creek Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and transformative experience for campers. The Role

The Mission Camp Creek Lead Counselor is expected to bring enthusiasm and commitment to the camp's mission, creating an environment where campers thrive emotionally, socially, and personally. Your leadership should inspire a sense of community among campers and staff, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. This role demands flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in and lead camp activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all campers.
  • Provide attentive and responsible supervision of campers during scheduled activities, meals, and free time.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of campers, following established safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow counselors and camp staff to create a supportive and cohesive team environment.
  • Address and manage camper behavior with a positive and constructive approach, promoting a respectful camp culture.
  • Effectively communicate with campers and fellow staff members, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Assist in planning and executing daily camp activities, ensuring a well-balanced program that meets the needs and interests of campers.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information regarding campers or staff members.
  • Assist with maintaining the care of camp supplies and equipment, filling out maintenance request forms.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the living unit throughout the week; including but not limited to the bathrooms, restocking necessary supplies, garbage/recycling, and campfire ring.
  • Attend pre-camp staff training and regularly scheduled meetings to ensure open and positive communication.
  • Other job as assigned.

  • Applicant must complete a background check.
