Job summary

CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation seeks a Correctional Lieutenant at Sierra Conservation Center in Amador County. Under the Captain, you will manage the camp, custody, discipline, and welfare of incarcerated persons and supervise camp operations.

Responsibilities include directing programs, scheduling BU6 staff, maintaining security and accountability of keys, radios, tools, and weapons, and coordinating with agencies to ensure safe, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications described in the Class Specification.
• Position title: Correctional Lieutenant.

Responsibilities

• Manage operation and security of the camp, including custody, discipline and welfare of incarcerated persons.
• Direct all camp programs (feeding, housing, laundry, medical/dental, education, recreation, etc.) and supervise BU6 staff.
• Maintain accountability for keys, radios, tools, security equipment and weapons; liaise with CALFIRE, law enforcement and community partners.
