Job summary

KidStrong Reno in Boise is seeking an enthusiastic Camp Coach to work with children ages 4-9. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching or summer camps and be passionate about child development.

This role offers flexibility in scheduling for part-time or full-time work, with camps typically running when school is out. Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour.

• Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors.
• Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack.

THE ROLE & SCHEDULE

• We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 – 9.
• KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum.
• Candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding incidents that may occur during camp.
• Camps typically run when school is out, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. *may vary depending on locations – the ideal candidate will be available during those hours.
• Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours & KidStrong Class coaching – may require additional training.

Coach Responsibilities

• Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 – 9.
• Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team.
• Ensure camp starts and ends on schedule and follows the appropriate pace of curriculum.
• Greet students and parents/guardians as they arrive to camp.
• Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor while leading camp.
• Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
• Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times.
• Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors – this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift.
• Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.).
• Communicate professionally with co‑workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
• Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team.
• Work in a physically intensive environment – coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift, and repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Be comfortable working “hands‑on” with kids to ensure proper technique and student safety.
• Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director.
• Obtain camp‑certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team.
• Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well‑being of all children.
