Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated in New Orleans seeks a live television camera operator to support Fair Grounds Race Course production, including live and taped broadcasts.

You will climb towers, adjust displays, maintain visual consistency, and collaborate with the TD and production team under safety guidelines.

The role requires working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, with physical duties and adherence to venue policies; prior live production experience is preferred.

America's second oldest horse racing track, the Fair Grounds has been a New Orleans staple since 1852. We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

JOB SUMMARY

Setup and operate television cameras daily for Fair Ground’s live and taped simulcast production. In addition to camera operation, this position will assist in changing televisions displays on the Fair Grounds property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate television camera equipment in both studio and ENG configurations.
• Understand what is needed to work in a live television environment.
• Climb 50-foot towers multiple times during a shift.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Racing License from the Louisiana Racing Commission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Strong communication skills. High level of professionalism with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment. Work to be completed as directed in timely manner and with efficiency. Applicants are encouraged to have previous experience in live television production and should be familiar with various aspects of television production. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation.
