Job summary

Google's Devices & Services team seeks a hardware engineer to derive system architectures for low-power, high-performance imaging hardware and to provide camera feature hooks. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $132000 - $189000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• 2 years of programming experience in Python or Matlab and experience using AI agents to create/debug prototype code.
• 2 years of hardware development experience in high-volume consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

• Derive a reasonable system architecture for system resources, power efficiency, and provide hardware hooks to support camera features.
• Determine component-level requirements and develop schematics for camera modules containing image sensors, microcontrollers, AF/OIS drivers, and high-speed interfaces (MIPI, I3C/I2C, SPI), and design hardware to enable testing and future technology innovation.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB/Flex layout supervision, and simulations to meet high-speed signal integrity and low-noise power supply requirements.
• Conduct system-level bring-up, validation, and debugging, document and present validation data.
• Support hardware prototyping and validation for new imaging technologies.
