Job summary

GORDON in the United States is seeking a CAM programmer for the sheet metal shop. You will generate CNC programs for Amada and Trump turret presses, review drawings, and respond to internal and external inquiries.

You should be proficient with Inventor or AutoCAD, understand 3D modeling, and help improve programming efficiency while upholding drafting standards.

Qualifications

• Experience generating CAM programs for sheet metal operations.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software.
• Experience with CAM software for turret punching is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate CAM programs for manufacturing environment.
• Answer questions from internal and external customers as required.
• Review project packets for completeness.
• Prepare Art, Die, Fabrication, and Submittal types of drawings.
• Prepare full size paper templates for manufacturing and customer use.
• Help develop and maintain Engineering Drafting Standards.
• Develop and recommend solutions to improve programming time run time.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Essential Job Functions:

• Generate CAM programs for manufacturing environment
• Answer questions from internal and external customers as required

Job Requirements:

• Need to be familiar with Architectural and Engineering Drawings.
• Experience with any 3D Modeling Software is required.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor / Product Design Suite is a plus.
• Experience with any RADAN, CAM software used for sheet metal punching is a plus.
• Experience with AutoDesk VAULT is a plus.
• Experience with Turret Press Operations is a plus.
• Program sheet metal parts to be run on Amada & Trump turret presses
• Create CAD/CAM Programs for turret punch/press machines, using Inventor and/or Auto CAD DWG and DXF Files
• Handle incoming CAM Department inquiries.
• Review project packets for completeness.
• Prepare Art, Die, Fabrication, and Submittal types of drawings.
• Prepare full size paper templates for manufacturing and customer use.
• Help develop and maintain Engineering Drafting Standards.
• Develop and recommend solutions to improve programming time run time.
• Must have strong Attention to Detail skills.
• Answer questions from internal and external customers as required.
• Be able to effectively communicate with Production Staff, Engineers, Sales Staff, Architects, and Installing Contractors.
