Job summary

Talently in California seeks a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join an established practice with a strong focus on workers’ compensation defense and related services. The role is based in Woodland Hills with a hybrid work arrangement.

You will manage a defense caseload from inception through resolution, analyze claims and medical records, conduct depositions and hearings, draft pleadings, advise clients on exposure, negotiate settlements, and stay current with case law and legislation.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• Residence within the state of California.
• Strong analytical, legal writing, and litigation skills.
• Knowledge of California workers’ compensation law and defense practices.
• Ability to manage a caseload and communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze claims, medical records, and other evidence to develop effective case strategies.
• Conduct depositions and represent clients at hearings and other proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on claim exposure, case developments, and litigation strategy.
• Negotiate settlements and pursue timely, appropriate resolutions.
• Monitor relevant case law and legislative updates affecting workers’ compensation matters.
