This role leads a team of California Claims Examiners handling moderate to complex Lost Time and litigated claims, providing technical guidance and ensuring accurate, timely resolutions. Qualifications

• 5+ years of California Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of California WC laws, regulations, and practices.
• Experience overseeing moderate to complex Lost Time and litigated claims.
• SIP certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of CA WC Claims Examiners handling moderate to complex lost time and litigated claims.
• Review claims for coverage, reserves, and resolution strategies.
• Provide technical guidance on complex files, escalations, and settlements.
• Monitor inventories, diaries, reserves, and team performance for timely handling.
• Collaborate with policyholders, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and others.
• Oversee litigated claims and coordinate with defense counsel on strategies.
• Assess settlement authority and ensure resolutions follow guidelines.
• Coach and develop claims professionals to improve performance.

Our client is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor to support their California claims operation. This individual will oversee a team responsible for handling moderate to complex California Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims, including litigated matters, while providing technical guidance and ensuring claims are handled accurately and efficiently. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering the ability to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to a team of California Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiners handling moderate to complex lost time and litigated claims.
• Review claims for appropriate coverage, compensability, reserves, medical management, and overall resolution strategy.
• Provide technical guidance on complex files, escalated matters, and settlement strategies.
• Monitor claim inventories, file quality, diaries, reserves, and overall team performance to ensure timely and effective claim handling.
• Work closely with policyholders, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and other parties throughout the claims process.
• Oversee litigated claims and partner with defense counsel to develop effective litigation and resolution strategies.
• Review and provide appropriate settlement authority while ensuring claims are resolved within established guidelines.
• Coach and develop claims professionals while identifying opportunities to improve performance and technical claim handling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of California Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience.
• 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of California Workers’ Compensation laws, regulations, and claims practices.
• Experience overseeing moderate to complex Lost Time and litigated claims.
• Strong technical claims, reserving, litigation management, and settlement skills.
• SIP certification highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• $60.00 – $65.00 per hour, depending on experience
