Position Overview
Role: Optometrist (OD)
Work Type: Onsite Locum Tenens
Location: California (Multiple Cities)
Schedule: Flexible (Full-Time, Part-Time, Intermittent)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate + travel/lodging (when applicable)
Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive onsite optometric care to a wide range of patient populations in clinical or retail settings.

Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments

Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and other conditions

Prescribe corrective lenses, medications (within scope), and treatments

Provide pre- and post-operative evaluations for ophthalmology referrals

Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, technicians, and support staff

Document all patient encounters accurately and within required timelines

Provide patient education and reinforce treatment plans

Support clinic flow, efficiency, and quality of care
