Job summary

Caliday, operated by Huffman Family Brands, is seeking a Teacher's Aide to support before/after school care for school-age children. You will assist in delivering age-appropriate activities, help maintain a safe and engaging learning environment, and work closely with the Program Director and School Age Teacher.

You will communicate with families, uphold Caliday values, and contribute to a collaborative team that fosters growth and safety for children and staff alike.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the program space and ensure compliance with regulations and policies
• Provide a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors
• Assist with activities aligned to Caliday curriculum
• Supervise children and apply behavior management techniques
• Communicate regularly with parents about program happenings and updates
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, appearance and safety
• Identify opportunities or problems and work with leadership to resolve
• Maintain yearly certification requirements including CE credits

Requirements

The Caliday Teacher's Aide works directly with the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; assisting in the implementation of activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

Essential Functions:

• Assists with the management of the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Education/Experience:

• The ideal candidate will have some experience in the childcare field.
