Job summary

Experis Technology Group seeks a Calibration Technician II to join the Maintenance & Instrumentation team in Abbott Park, IL. You will perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation to support manufacturing and QA operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with measuring equipment, strong safety/quality focus, and proficiency with CMMS (Maximo). You will contribute to continuous improvement and ensure equipment meets specifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on calibration, maintenance or instrumentation experience.
• Experience with electrical, electronic, mechanical or optical measuring devices.
• Familiarity reading schematics and CMMS like Maximo.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities on measuring and test equipment (M&E), instrumentation, and control systems.
• Analyze calibration and service data to determine corrective actions and ensure equipment performance meets required specifications.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, manuals, and procedures to diagnose equipment issues.
• Complete and maintain calibration records, work orders, purchase orders, and documentation within Maximo CMMS and other systems.
• Support installation, startup, validation, and calibration of new equipment and automated calibration systems.

Description

As a Calibration Technician II, you will be part of the Maintenance & Instrumentation team supporting manufacturing, quality assurance, research and development, technical support, distribution, and plant utility operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the drive to troubleshoot and improve measurement performance - skills that will align successfully in the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities on measuring and test equipment (M&E), instrumentation, and control systems.
• Analyze calibration and service data to determine corrective actions and ensure equipment performance meets required specifications.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, manuals, and procedures to diagnose equipment issues.
• Complete and maintain calibration records, work orders, purchase orders, and documentation within Maximo CMMS and other systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical experience or trade training in calibration, instrumentation, maintenance, electronics, or related technical fields.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or optical measuring equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.
