Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a highly skilled Metrology Calibration Technician to support RF/microwave and DC/LF metrology operations. You will update equipment status, prepare for calibration, perform tests, analyze data, and document results following established procedures.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in calibration labs, strong Excel, LabVIEW, MET/CAL experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation in a military PMEL context.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent
  • 3+ years with DC/LF or RF and Microwave metrology processes
  • Familiarity with Excel, MET/CAL, LabVIEW, Basic/Visual Basic, networking and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Update radio & high frequency electronics and DC/LF equipment status per established systems and complete associated paperwork
  • Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes
  • Prioritize and perform work according to daily report list, hot list, or by lead
  • Perform visual checks of Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment for discrepancies and wear
  • Identify, document, and route non-conforming items per metrology lab processes
  • Process equipment using approved calibration procedures and drawings
  • Process equipment to manufacturer performance specifications
  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
  • Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair equipment
  • Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
  • Work with others engaged in calibration and certification of equipment
  • Assist in development of new calibration processes and procedures
  • Perform computations to analyze measurement test results

Job description

  • Perform visual check of Electronic Measurement and Test Equipment/process equipment for discrepancies and wear
  • Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes
  • Process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and Measurement and Test Equipment
  • Process equipment to manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results
  • Use calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Measurement and Test Equipment
  • Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes
  • Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of Measurement and Test Equipment
  • Assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures
  • Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results
Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Electrical/Electronic - DC/LF or RF and Microwave Metrology process
  • Familiarity with Excel, MET/CAL, LabVIEW, Basic/Visual Basic, computer networking, and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Associate's degree or above
  • 7 years or more work experience in a calibration lab
  • 3+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military
  • Experience using and configuring data acquisition units
  • Experience running and configuring automated hardware tests
