Job summary

Garmin International in the Greater Kansas City area seeks a full-time Calibration Technician at its U.S. headquarters.

You will organize and perform testing and calibration activities by reviewing schedules, operating equipment and producing accurate records. Responsibilities include calibrations, reviewing datasheets and procedures, maintaining calibration records and equipment profiles, and supporting Quality with test fixtures and interconnects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in electronics or related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with tools and measurement devices.
  • Strong electrical aptitude with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to move work and test equipment to from work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration, tests, and verification of equipment to authorized plans and procedures.
  • Review calibrations and datasheets, manufacturer's calibration procedures and Garmin schedules to update test and calibration procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records and equipment profiles.
  • Support Quality in providing and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, and interconnects.
  • Follow schedules and perform basic tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures.
  • Move work and test equipment to and from work areas.

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Calibration Technician at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and perform testing and/or calibration activities by reviewing schedules, operating equipment and producing accurate records.

Essential Functions
  • Perform calibration, tests, and verification of equipment to authorized plans and procedures
  • Review calibrations and equipment datasheets, manufacturer's calibration procedures and Garmin internal product schedules to implement actions to update test and calibration procedures, as identified
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records and equipment profiles
  • Support Quality functions in providing and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, and interconnects
  • Follow schedules and perform basic tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures
  • Move work and test equipment to and from work areas
  • Lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology OR Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with previous Military training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude related to using tools and measurement devices (hand tools, calipers, gages, etc.)
  • Demonstrated strong electrical aptitude related to operating electrical equipment and test devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to move work and test equipment to and from work areas
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous calibration, reliability, or electronics experience
  • Experience working in a calibration lab, test lab or engineering test environment
  • Experience with ISO9000, ISO17025, AS9100, IATF6949
