Job summary

JLL in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Calibration Technician to perform calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments across laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, utility and environmental monitoring systems. This role ensures measurement equipment remains accurate and compliant with quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years in instrumentation/calibration, with strong communication and problem-solving skills;

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS in scientific field preferred or related work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Trouble-shooting, problem solving and training skills.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and on-call coverage as needed.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with computer based programs and CMMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations of instruments on process, utility and lab equipment.
  • Record data in CMMS and ensure accuracy of work order documentation.
  • Generate certificates of calibration and out-of-tolerance reports as required.
  • Plan and coordinate external calibration services and maintenance.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and write/update calibration SOPs.
  • Complete training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain calibration standards and use calibration software.
  • Input and close work orders and ensure all data is documented.

Calibration Technician

We’re looking for a Calibration Technician to join our team in Chesterfield, MO! The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments used throughout laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, utility, and environmental monitoring systems. This role ensures measurement equipment remains accurate, reliable, and compliant with company quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Perform calibrations of instruments on process and utility equipment, laboratory analytical equipment. Examples: Incubators, Freezers, Balances, Transmitters, Indicators, etc.
  • Calibrates inspections, measurements and tests equipment in lab and onsite for accuracy in accordance with established calibration procedures; (e.g. Chemical, Electrical, Physical/Dimensional, Light/Color, Mass/Weight, Sound, Electrical, Pressure/Flow, Temperature, Force, Mass, Velocity, Torque & Volume, Time/Frequency equipment, systems and controls).
  • Records data gathered during calibration within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Identifies and utilizes appropriate measurement procedures.
  • Ensure that calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation is completed with accurate information
  • Generates certificates of calibration and/or out of tolerance reports as required and in correct media appropriate to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform modifications, improvements, and recommendations to existing systems.
  • Perform testing on electronic components to determine functionality level and capacity.
  • Maintains secondary or intrinsic and/or working calibration standards. Uses calibration software when required to expedite calibration times and to adjust calibration devices.
  • Input all work or create work orders per initial/change request/ change control/schedule/corrective/on demand events/ and/or emergency using work order management system.
  • Ensure that all work orders are closed out appropriately and contain the required data, reports, and documentation.
  • Complete any and all training requirements in a timely manner
  • Plan and coordinate external calibration services.
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations
  • Writing and revising calibration SOPs.
  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.

  • Ability to read and understand technical material including operating manuals and standard engineering drawings is required.
  • Ability to work with computer based programs
Physical Work Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder up to 28’, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, and operate required equipment
