Job Description

The Calibration/ Metrology I is responsible for performing calibration, testing, maintenance, and repair activities on a variety of electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydromechanical, and pressure-measuring equipment. The role supports compliance with established standards while ensuring measurement accuracy and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Calibrate electronic test, measuring, and signal-generating equipment to established standards and specifications.
  • Test, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydromechanical, and pressure-measuring instruments.
  • Execute calibration methods, sequences, and procedures using engineering drawings, specifications, and documented requirements.
  • Inspect equipment performance and identify maintenance, repair, or calibration requirements.
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective components on calibration and test equipment.
  • Document calibration, maintenance, and repair activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor and verify product or process quality using statistical process control and other quality control methods.
  • Follow quality system, safety, and regulatory requirements while performing assigned responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or vocational training OR equivalent technical training and 0+ years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Basic knowledge of calibration processes, test equipment, and measurement systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and recordkeeping activities.
  • Ability to perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair activities in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Associate Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Calibration Technician or Instrumentation Technician.
  • Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
