Job summary

HOUCHENS FOOD GROUP, INC. seeks a Cake Decorator in our Deli/Grocery department. The position is full time with a schedule that runs Sunday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m.

to 6:00 p.m. Responsibilities include assembling and decorating cakes to meet customer specifications and ensuring high quality standards. Candidate should have a High School diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of related experience; cake decorating certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Cake Decorating Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and decorate cake products according to customer specifications and all applicable standards and procedures.
• Properly and safely operate and maintain cake equipment while following all health and safety standards.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of decorated cakes, including back-up cakes during holidays and peak occasions.
• Keep display full at all times to the proper level with a variety of cakes attractively displayed.
• Be pleasant and alert to customer needs; work as a team to assure quality and service.
• Inform supervisor promptly of any problems or unusual matters of significance.
