Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a bakery team member in Short Pump, VA to bake, produce and package a variety of breads and treats. You’ll work closely with a friendly team to keep shelves and displays inviting and nicely stocked, and you’ll help customers with friendly, timely service.

You’ll follow safe handling and merchandising practices in a fast-paced bakery environment, supporting daily deliveries and maintaining cleanliness while delivering a positive shopping experience for our guests.

Work Environment:

The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to various work environments, including cold (33 – 55 degrees), freezing (-20 – 20 degrees) and hot temperatures (exceeds 85 degrees with work surfaces or equipment that exceeds 135 degrees).
