Job Description: Bakery Decorator at Weis Markets

Weis Markets is seeking a dedicated Bakery Decorator who values respect, teamwork, and community growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an appealing and well-stocked bakery department, greeting customers and assisting with product selection and questions. Take customer orders in person and over the phone, ensuring a positive experience. Create decorated bakery products promptly.
• Decorate cakes and bakery items using various techniques and designs, adhering to company recipes and standards.
• Trim, cut, and assemble cakes, applying icing and color tinting as needed.
• Assist in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area, ensuring product quality and freshness through proper rotation and inventory management.
• Help with receiving and storing deliveries, and perform related duties such as cardboard baling, with training provided.
• Maintain sanitation standards and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth department operations and continuous performance improvement.
• Utilize all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of decorating experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly rate: $15.00 - $22.00. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), insurance options, paid time off, and more.
