Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a well-stocked and appealing bakery department to meet customer demand. Greet customers, assist with product questions, and take orders in person or over the phone with a positive attitude. Create finished decorated products promptly.
• Decorate cakes and bakery items using dyes and custom designs, ensuring consistent quality with various creams, frostings, and fillings, following approved recipes.
• Trim, cut, and shape cakes as required, apply icing between layers and on surfaces, and tint icing to desired colors.
• Assist in filling and merchandising the bakery sales area, adhering to production logs, and ensuring product rotation and markdown policies for freshness and quality. Manage inventory levels with proper ordering and logging.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, including operation of power or hand jacks (training provided).
• Support general sanitation by following cleaning schedules and maintaining health and OSHA standards. Properly dispose of trash.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth department operations and continuous job performance improvement.
• Utilize all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not currently have supervisory duties.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of decorating experience preferred.
