This position is an important part of creating a welcoming school environment and ensuring students receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and friendly setting.What You'll DoPrepare, portion, and serve breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other food items.Follow menus, recipes, portion sizes, and food safety procedures.Set up and maintain the cafeteria and food serving areas.Provide friendly and professional service to students and staff.Maintain proper food temperatures and safe food-handling practices.Clean and sanitize kitchen, serving, and dining areas.Wash dishes, utensils, and food-service equipment.Properly store food, supplies, and equipment.Assist with meal counts, food deliveries, and inventory as needed.Monitor food and supply levels and report shortages or concerns.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Follow all school policies and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.Perform other food-service duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForDependable and punctual.Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Comfortable working with teenagers and school staff.Able to follow written and verbal instructions.Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.Able to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and excellent customer service.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend and reach as needed, and lift or carry food and supplies weighing up to approximately 40–50 pounds.Why Work at Merit Prep?At Merit Preparatory Academy, we believe every student matters.
