Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant to support Retail Operations in our hospital cafeteria. You will prepare and serve meals, operate cash registers, and ensure food safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities include following the cafeteria menu, labeling and storing food per FIFO, handling payments, and providing a friendly, efficient experience to guests.

Qualifications

• No formal education required, but a high school equivalent is preferred.
• ServSafe or similar food-safety certification is a plus.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, professional service to all guests.
• Prepare and cook a variety of meals in a cafeteria setting and meet FIFO standards.
• Operate a cash register, receive payments, and issue receipts.
• Follow sanitation standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Label, date, and store all food properly and ensure proper temperatures.
