Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a food service worker to prepare and serve meals to patients, employees, visitors, and catering customers at its Pittsburgh area facilities. The role includes cash handling, registering meals, and ensuring sanitation of equipment and work areas.

Responsibilities cover proper food handling, stocking items, communicating menus and pricing, dish room duties, and adherence to safety and privacy policies, including HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Basic computer and math skills and the ability to count money bags and make change.
• Preferred experience in food services.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes proper food handling, portioning and food storage techniques according to standards and guidelines.
• Maintains, assembles and stocks adequate levels of food items, products and supplies.
• Performs register duties to process customers according to procedures.
• Communicates cafeteria menu, specials, and pricing.
• Performs dish room/pot room duties to supply clean supplies as needed.
• Disposes of trash according to procedures; cleans and sanitizes containers.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards according to requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
