Job summary

Chambersburg Area School District is seeking a Food Service Aide for Falling Spring Elementary. Under the supervision of the building Principal, you will help maintain a safe, orderly atmosphere in the cafeteria and other designated areas by supervising students during mealtime and playtime.

Responsibilities include supervising students, keeping tables clean, assisting with meal services, and escorting students to buses when needed.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships.
• Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
• Ensure tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Supervise the playground during lunch hour.
• Assist with food purchases, distribution, disposal of food waste, and return of trays.”
• Ensure students remain seated in assigned areas during cafeteria time.
• Circulate among tables to assist as needed.
• Organize groups for orderly cafeteria dismissal.
• Escort students to and from school buses as needed.
• Report infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or issues to teachers, principal, nurse, or security.
