Wayne County Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Assistant to support the Child Nutrition department during a ten-month school year. The role involves food preparation, service, cashiering, and keeping the kitchen area clean and organized.

Qualifications include a High School degree or equivalent, knowledge of basic food cookery, and the ability to operate common kitchen equipment. The position reports to the Cafeteria Manager and offers a starting hourly rate of $15.60.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food cookery.
• Knowledge of food service equipment.
• Ability to follow written recipes and instructions.
• Ability to operate common kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Ability to use computer and calculator, and handle cash.
• Physical ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force.

Responsabilités

• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures, along with state and federal regulations relevant to the child nutrition department.
• Assist in the preparation of food.
• Clean and wash dishes/equipment.
• Collect money and ID cards during meals, make reports of lunches and collections, and tabulate paid, free, and reduced price meal counts.
• Participate in training programs.
• Keep the area neat and clean.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal or Cafeteria Manager.
