Job summary

The Learning Lamp Ebensburg, Pennsylvania is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to supervise students during meals and support cafeteria operations. The role focuses on behavior management, customer service, and maintaining a clean lunch area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
  • Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, physical, and TB test.
  • Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage students during meal service (behavior problems should be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by each school site).
  • Communicate with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten, assisting students who need help.
  • Assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/lunch rooms.
  • Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.
  • Encourage good table manners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ignite Education Solutions is hiring a Cafeteria Aide to work with students in t he Blacklick Valley School District. The cafeteria aide is responsible for monitoring student behavior during meal service. The cafeteria aide will assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/lunchrooms, recycling and the flow of meal service.

  • Monday through Friday, 2 hours per day, during the school year.
