Job summary

Compass Group USA, in Houston, is seeking a Cafe Supervisor to oversee daily food service operations within our Flik Hospitality program.

The role directs associates, manages budgets, ensures sanitation standards, and coordinates events/promotions in the cafe, delivering service excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, 1–3 years in related food service, and proficiency with MS Office; ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of relevant restaurant or food service experience.
• Experience in cafes, restaurants, corporate dining, education, or health care settings preferred.
• Cash handling procedures knowledge and basic budgeting experience.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe or Health Department certification preferred.

• Hire, supervise, train, and coach associates.
• Plan and execute cafe events/promotions.
• Ensure sanitation and cleaning standards.

This individual will be responsible for the supervision of the food service operation, ensuring the standards of excellence are met. They will supervise associates and support financial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Hires, supervises, trains, and coaches associates.
• Plans, markets and executes special events/promotions in the cafe
• Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards
• Operates within the budget and identifies new ways to improve the business
• Manages cafe operations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations
• Operational knowledge of cash handling procedures and food service equipment
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
• ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is preferred
