Job summary

Outpost is seeking a reliable café team member to support a fast-paced retail cafe. You will help with stocking, customer service, and maintaining clean, inviting department areas to ensure customers have what they need for a great dining experience.

In this role you’ll work near coffee machines and other equipment, assist in inventory and ordering, and uphold sanitary guidelines. Strong English communication and reliability are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Treat customers fairly, consistently, and with respect.
• Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.
• Greet and assist customers in a timely manner.
• Expedite customer orders with kitchen and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure customers receive their orders and have what they need to enjoy their dining experience.
• Handle customer questions and complaints.
• Check out customers’ purchases quickly and accurately.
• Provide samples and information of the products sold in the department.
• Follow sanitary guidelines with regards to food handling, serving, and storing.
• Maintain department displays, cases and work areas.
• Ensure proper shelf tags and sale signs are on products and displays.
• Order product from vendors and commissary to ensure department is fully stocked.
• Receive and stock orders and verify invoice accuracy.
• Assist in inventory control including losses, markdowns, and transfers.
• Maintain a clean and organized backstock area and rotate stock.
• Backup café kitchen staff when needed.
• Attend department meetings as scheduled.
• Perform all duties included in department clerk job descriptions.
