Reporting the the Café Manager, the Café Barista position demonstrates exceptional hospitality skills through extraordinary customer service to all PDX travelers as well as Port of Portland employees. Is able to expertly prepare high quality beverages, deliver excellent product knowledge, and develop superior barista skills. Café Baristas are responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment that is safe and meets Portland Coffee Roasters expectations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to Portland Coffee Roasters freshness, quality and presentation standards.Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed; engage customers in a sincere, friendly and professional manner, including greeting customers with a smile, thanking them for their patronage, talking about their drink preference, making suggestions when appropriate – all in an expedient manner.Maintain coffee knowledge on all Portland Coffee Roasters offerings and confidently and accurately communicating that knowledge to customers.Actively participate in coffee and tea tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies.
