Job summary

John Knox Village is seeking a friendly Dining Services team member to provide service in The Coffee Shoppe, Courtyard Café, and kitchen environments.

You will prepare beverages, assist with light food prep, take orders, serve guests, restock, and maintain cleanliness, while following safety policies and the Village’s PRIDE standards. This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Food Handler Permit within 15 days, and flexibility for irregular hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain Food Handler Permit within 15 days of start date.
• Experience in a restaurant or coffee shop is preferred.
• Ability to work with residents and customers.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
• Basic math for cash handling.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to taste and smell to assess products.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests in The Coffee Shoppe and Dining Area.
• Prepare hot and cold beverages and light food items.
• Suggest menu items to guests.
• Maintain display case stock and rotate products.
• Check temperatures of freezers and refrigerators.
• Clean and sanitize utensils and dining areas.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and restock supplies.
• Follow safety regulations and PRIDE values.
