Job summary

CSCA Café in Cambridge, MA, operated by The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, seeks a Café Bakery Manager to oversee daily cafe bakery operations, lead a team of baristas, and partner with pastry chefs on menus and seasonal specials.

You will manage staff, scheduling, inventory, budgets, and uphold a welcoming, spotless environment for customers, with emphasis on hospitality and high-quality products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cafe, bakery, or restaurant management
• Hands-on experience with professional coffee equipment
• ServSafe Food Manager certification (or equivalent)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks
• Customer-first attitude with leadership ability
• Comfort with MS Office
• High school diploma; degree in Culinary/Pastry Arts, Business Administration, or Business Management preferred
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• Drive to do whatever it takes to succeed

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day café operations
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train baristas and staff
• Lead and develop a team of shift leads and baristas
• Create schedules that cover busy periods
• Manage vendor relations, ordering, and inventory
• Collaborate on menu development and seasonal specials
• Develop seasonal drink offerings with the team
• Monitor budgets and sales to control costs
• Work with marketing on promotions and events
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment
• Turn customer feedback into improvements
• Foster a hospitality-centered culture
• Support CSCA Academics and Student Life as needed
