Job summary

Children's Museum Houston is seeking a Café Associate to manage daily operations in the Kid’s Café. You will handle cash register transactions, serve customers, prepare orders, and maintain a clean seating area while delivering food and beverages.

The role supports inventory, restocking, and opening/closing procedures to ensure smooth daytime service. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior cash register or food preparation experience is preferred.

• Monitor vending machines in the courtyard, including stocking product and emptying cash.
• Handle register transactions, wait on customers, take and prepare orders, keep seating area clean (floor and table), deliver food to customers, make coffee and popcorn, serve ice cream and icees, wash dishes and help with morning prep in food area.
• Help with all opening and closing procedures (from setting up chairs in the morning to cleaning and restocking everything before going home regardless of shift).
• Must have ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds; carry, load carts and lift over head to fill ice in soda machine.
• Other duties as assigned.
