CAE Powertrain Engineer - Durability & NVH

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated CAE Engineer to join our Powertrain Development team. In this role, you will support durability analysis of engine and transmission components while developing foundational skills in NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) simulation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your technical expertise in powertrain CAE within a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural durability analysis of powertrain components (engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, transmission cases, mounts, and brackets) using FEA tools
• Support NVH analysis activities including modal analysis, frequency response, and acoustic simulations under guidance of senior engineers
• Assist in correlation of CAE models with physical test data to validate simulation accuracy
• Prepare clear technical reports documenting analysis assumptions, methods, results, and recommendations
• Participate in design reviews and provide feasibility feedback to design engineers
• Support root cause analysis for durability and NVH issues during development and validation phases
• Help maintain and improve CAE methodologies, templates, and best practices

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
• 1‑3 years of experience in CAE analysis (academic projects, internships, or professional experience)
• Fundamental knowledge of FEA principles and durability assessment methods
• Exposure to NVH concepts and basic simulation techniques
• Proficiency with one or more CAE pre/post‑processors (ANSA, HyperMesh, etc.)
• Familiarity with FEA solvers (Abaqus, Nastran, ANSYS, or similar)
• Basic understanding of powertrain systems and components
• Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in team environment

Preferred:

• Hands‑on experience with durability analysis (fatigue, static/dynamic loading)
• Basic experience with NVH tools (LMS Virtual.Lab, ANSA Acoustics, or similar)
• Knowledge of material properties and failure theories
• Exposure to optimization techniques and DOE methodologies
• Scripting skills (Python, MATLAB) for process automation
• Understanding of internal combustion engines or electric powertrain systems
