Job summary

Mackie Search has partnered with a Global Leader in the Automotive Research and Development space in the Dayton OH area to lead a search for an Early Career CAE Engineer. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1-3 years of experience in CAE or Validation within the automotive industry.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with FEA software (HyperMesh, Nastran, Abaqus), strong understanding of FEA, and capability to work with 3D/2D drawings, data acquisition

Qualifications

• 1-3 years preferred experience in the Automotive Industry as a CAE or Validation Engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Knowledge/experience of FEA software (HyperMesh, Nastran, Abaqus) required.

Responsibilities

• Create and document modeling plans to the engineering team.
• Initiate new processes and tools utilizing FEA and computer engineering programs.
• Develop, test and evaluate solutions supporting mass production startup per client and internal requirements.
• Collaborate with design and product development teams and report issues to improve the product.
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement aligned with company philosophy.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 1-3 years preferred experience in the Automotive Industry as a CAE or Validation Engineer

Skills Required:

• Knowledge/experience of FEA software Hypermesh, Nastran and Abaqus
• Strong understanding of FEA
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience is 3D and 2D drawings
• Experience in data acquisition systems
• Knowledge in metal fatigue

Duties:

• This position is responsible for the creation and documentation of modeling plans to the engineering team and the initiation of new processes and tools utilizing FEA and computer engineering programs/software.
• The engineer is also responsible for overall development, test and evaluating, providing support for mass production startup based on client's requirements as well as internal requirements.
• The engineer must work with design and product development teams and report problems or failures in an attempt to improve the product.
• These skills are used to work in cross functional teams within the organization to deliver products that meet customer and company requirements.
• The engineer must develop trust and teamwork, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement and achievement for all employees while utilizing company philosophy and guiding principles for decisions and actions.
• May be required to support multiple projects to achieve total customer satisfaction and to meet quality standards and procedures.
