Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a skilled CADD Designer to join our civil design team. The role supports site civil, land development, and utility projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related surveying data.

You will collaborate with engineers and project managers across multiple disciplines and drive timely, quality drawings for infrastructure initiatives. Remote work is available, with the option to work from any office location.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical degree in CAD/Design or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings.
• Coastal and waterfront design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support site civil, land development, structural, stormwater, and utility designs.
• Develop plan sets with multidisciplinary engineering components.
• Prepare alignments, cross sections, profiles, and grading objects.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and project managers to meet deadlines.
• Process survey data and create topographic and boundary base plans.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Weston & Sampson is seeking motivated Civil CAD designers utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to support highly skilled engineering and design of infrastructure projects. This position is open to any Weston & Sampson office location or remote. You will prepare site civil, land development, structural, stormwater, and utility design plan sheets while working with a multidisciplinary team. You will coordinate with multiple disciplines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

What you’ll do:

• Support site civil, land development, structural, stormwater, utility designs for infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in the latest version of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience in developing plan sets that includes multi-disciplinary engineering plans
• Experience in grading for site design and dam rehabilitation projects
• Preparing alignments, cross sections and profiles
• Familiarity with survey data and ability to support development of topographic and boundary survey base plans
• Creating surfaces from survey point data
• Work collaboratively with engineers and project managers on a fast-paced schedule to produce quality work and meet deadlines.

What you will bring:

• Associates or Technical Degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Design, or similar field
• 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings, Civil 3D Surfaces, Alignments, Profiles, and Cross Sections and Grading Objects.
• Experience developing drawings for coastal and waterfront design is a plus.
• Flexibility to perform design, drafting and recognize the importance of meeting stringent deadlines in an often fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to effectively plan & manage time commitments on multiple concurrent projects
• Strong understanding of CAD standards, features and annotation styles, line styles, and drawing setup
• Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as being self-directed and managing projects independently.
• Experience processing lidar scan data and point clouds
• Survey experience/knowledge a plus
