Job summary

Hirebridge is seeking a CAD Technician to support engineering and sales by providing precise drawings and drafting services. Daily use of AutoCAD and related tools to create fabrication drawings and BOMs ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

This role requires an associate degree in Drafting/Engineering/AutoCAD, strong math, Excel proficiency, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Local candidates only; occasional site visits may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering, or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, and engineering concepts.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and current versions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Drafting: Independently create detailed drawings and Bills of Materials using CAD tools.
  • Review design information and site plans to determine critical dimensions.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, Fusion 360, and Inventor to meet project deadlines.
  • Perform calculations to generate fabrication drawings.
  • Collaborate with design staff to determine requirements and resolve issues; submit drawings for peer review.
  • Produce accurate drawings for design staff approval and project handoff.
  • Prioritize projects based on due dates and maintain standard details.
  • Serve as interface between operations, plant managers, and engineers when needed.
  • Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities or installation sites.

About the Role:

As a CAD Technician, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Design and Drafting: Utilize custom programs to independently create detailed drawings and, when necessary, bills of material for the manufacture and installation of our products.
  • Critical Dimensions: Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions for designs.
  • Software Expertise: Utilize applications such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, Fusion 360, and Inventor daily to complete drawings within project deadlines.
  • Calculations: Perform necessary calculations to generate design information required for the creation of fabrication drawings.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the design staff to determine design requirements, modifications, and resolve issues. Submit and review drawings with peers as needed before design staff review.
  • Quality Assurance: Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval by the design staff.
  • Project Prioritization: Prioritize assigned projects based on due dates.
  • Standardization: Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families.
  • Communication: Serve as an interface between commercial operations, plant managers, customer service representatives, and structural engineers when necessary.
  • Field Visits: Occasionally visit manufacturing facilities or product installation sites.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering, or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, and engineering concepts.
  • Strong technical skills, including an academic background in AutoCAD and proficiency in current versions of AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, site plans, and engineering concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
