Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Stormwater CAD Technician to prepare production drawings and accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) for stormwater products. You will coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

You will use AutoCAD, Inventor, and Excel to develop and manage engineering documentation, verify BOMs, and maintain standard and custom details for product families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting, engineering, or AutoCAD.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and ability to read site plans accurately.
• Familiarity with Inventor and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and Bills of Materials (BoMs) for products.
• Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions.
• Coordinate with design staff, manufacturing, and sales to meet deadlines.
• Develop and maintain BOMs and supporting documentation.

About the Role:

As a Stormwater CAD Technician at Contech Engineered Solutions, your responsibilities will include:

• Utilize custom programs to create detailed drawings and bills of material for use in the manufacture and installation of our products. Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
• Use applications such as JD Edwards (JDE), AutoCAD, Inventor, and Excel to develop and manage engineering documentation and meet project deadlines.
• Confer with design staff to determine design requirements, modifications, and issues.
• Interface between commercial operations, fabrication plant managers, customer service representatives, and stormwater engineers when necessary.
• Perform calculations to generate the design information necessary for creating fabrication drawings. Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval by the design staff.
• Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families.
• Verify BOMs and production documentation prior to release to manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
• Create, revise, and maintain BOMs and supporting documentation as project requirements or engineering changes occur.
• Support continuous improvement of BOM processes, documentation standards, and workflow efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in drafting, engineering, or AutoCAD, or a combination of post-secondary education and experience.
• Civil engineering, architectural, or construction experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans, with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the civil engineering field.
• Strong technical skills in AutoCAD, working knowledge of Inventor preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent math skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, site plans, and engineering concepts. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
