Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an intermediate CAD Technician I in Mansfield, MA to perform non-routine drafting with independent responsibility and to coordinate with other groups within the department.

You will create diagrams, layouts and drawings to client specifications, using AutoCAD or MicroStation, and contribute to substation and line design packages while developing technical drafting skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of training at a technical school or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in the preparation of engineering drawings and diagrams as a Drafter 1.
• Proven AutoCAD and/or MicroStation skills.
• Strong PC/IT skills (Word, Excel, etc).
• Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagrams, schematics, layouts, multiview, and various drawings to scale per client requests.
• Mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
• Scale engineering drawings using computer aided drafting system.
• Detailed design drawings and related specifications for civil/electrical equipment.
• Produce substation, relay, and line design drawings.
• File drawings, maintain catalogs of engineering data, and perform routine drawing room functions.
