What We're Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB’s growing Design Build (DB) Organization! We are seeking candidates for a Design Build CAD Technician I, for fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects.

This opportunity is an entry-level position in a team environment, with primary responsibilities including preparing drawings with CADD, assisting in other aspects of plan preparation such as information gathering and data transfer. Tasks will generally be related to specific engineering sub-types.

What You’ll Do:

1. Assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and relevant project materials utilizing computer-aided drafting, design software, and various other computer software packages.
2. Transfer information in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and maps.
3. Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related field, or
• In lieu of education, 2 years of relevant experience

What We Prefer:

• Familiarity with Open Roads Designer, Microstation CONNECT, MicroStation V8i, AutoCAD, Civil3D
• Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
