Moffatt & Nichol is seeking two CAD Technicians at entry to junior level for our Houston office. The role involves creating and detailing drawings for complex waterfront infrastructure under the guidance of engineers and senior technicians.

Strong attention to CAD standards and numeracy is required, along with 1–2 years of drafting experience. A related degree or certificate is necessary, and background checks are conducted in compliance with federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or drafting certificate in a relevant discipline.
• 1-2 years of drafting experience; required.
• Experience with structural project design; preferred.
• Understanding and application of CAD standards.
• Good numeracy, geometry and computer skills.
• Pre-employment background check per NIST 800-171.
• Employment contingent on legal ability to work in the U.S. and documentation at hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret sketches, mark-ups and instructions and create workable drawings that adhere to CAD standards and other project requirements.
• Create detailed drawings of various structures and installations under the direction of engineers, designers and senior CAD technicians.
• Assist designers and senior technicians with preparation of engineering drawing packages.
