Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an experienced CAD Technician for our Richmond, VA office. This hybrid role combines in-person teamwork with optional remote work, coordinating with engineers, project managers and staff across multiple disciplines.

You will perform design and drafting tasks including AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, plan preparation, and coordination on commercial, institutional, and related projects. A strong attention to detail and 4+ years in site/civil are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience with emphasis in site/civil and land development projects.
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to create surfaces, alignments and profiles.
• Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
• Strong interest in all phases of Civil Engineering including land development, data center, energy, utilities, water resources, permitting, and construction.
• High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.

Overview

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced CAD Technician. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual interested in joining our Site/Civil department in our Richmond, VA office, working with engineers, project coordinators, project managers, and other professionals. This is a hybrid position combining in-person team building and flexibility with optional remote work. Applicant must be able to work in a fast paced environment, provide daily coordination with key staff, while assisting on multiple project designs. This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of a commercial, institutional, and Fortune 100 type projects. Work activities may include; 3D grading, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections, plan prep/setup, and redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $53,000-$68,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
