Job description

STV is seeking a CADD Tech with 5+ years of relevant experience for a position with our Transportation Group in our Hartford, CT office.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Create and update design plans: Develop detailed roadway and transportation plans using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
  2. Generate cross-sections and construction drawings, ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
  3. Collaborate with engineers: Work closely with civil engineers to translate design concepts into accurate CADD drawings and models.
  4. Ensure compliance and accuracy: Perform quality checks to ensure all designs meet state DOT and federal standards while maintaining accuracy.
  5. Manage project files: Organize and maintain drawings and models using ProjectWise or similar document management systems.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in drafting and designing for civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering design standards and specifications, particularly in roadway, transportation, and site development projects.
  • Experience creating and modifying plan sets, cross-sections, and profiles in ORD and MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with file management and organization within ProjectWise or similar document management systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and design guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Compensation Range: $55,392.00 - $73,856.00
