Qualifications

CAD Technician – Fayetteville, Arkansas

As part of the Water team in Fayetteville, AR, the CAD (Civil 3D) Technician will develop civil engineering designs for various water and wastewater projects within Garver's Water Business Line as well as supporting site and civil projects. The designer will work hands‑on with detailed design, collaborate with teams of designers and engineers, and produce high‑quality work in a rapidly growing business line.

The Civil Technician provides technical and design support for projects primarily focused on water and wastewater treatment plant designs. Other projects include pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and auxiliary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure. Typical tasks include facility layouts, grading using Civil3D tools, paving and drainage plans, and demolition plans. The designer also models, lays out, and profiles significant yard piping networks and plans for gravity and pressure systems within treatment facilities. Additional responsibilities include coordination with other disciplines, quantity estimating, and quality assurance and control.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 1+ years of experience with Civil 3D

Preferred Skills

• Experience using Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Experience in civil engineering design
• Associate's Degree in CAD or a similar 2‑year degree
• Experience with BIM file sharing software
• Experience using Revit
• Previous experience designing plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
• Strong knowledge base of engineering principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience using Bluebeam and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)
• Strong teaching and coaching skills to help new team members
