Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a CAD Tech Engineer to draft and detail computer aided drawings supporting design engineering for new or modified products, including extrusion, assembly, BOMs, and fabrication drawings.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in engineering or technical field and advanced AutoCAD knowledge. You will work independently and in teams, coordinating with manufacturing to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (drafting principles and practices)
• Knowledge of metal fabrication and cutting, milling and fabrication equipment
• Communicate effectively in oral and written forms
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Responsibilities

• Assist Design Engineering in 2D or 3D by detailing new product designs or updating existing ones on time
• Detail extrusions, components, and hardware drawings
• Detail fabrication and part process drawings
• Detail glass and glazing designs and assembly instructions
• Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturing and inter-departmental customers
• Learn design, production, and application engineering processes with manufacturing
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
