Job summary

C5ISR (Gichner Systems Group, Inc.) is seeking an experienced CAD Manager to lead the CAD staff and coordinate design activities on defense programs. You will supervise the team, assign projects, monitor schedules and budgets, and participate in hiring decisions.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of CAD workflows, a background in mechanical or manufacturing disciplines, and the ability to develop procedures, train staff, and present results to leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BA degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 2 years technical training or equivalent experience is required.
• At least 6 years CAD design experience with 3D modeling.
• DoD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct CAD staff supervision and personnel actions.
• Assign CAD staff to jobs and assist in scheduling; monitor schedules and budgets.
• Review CSILs and REAIs as necessary.
• Provide technical support to CAD staff.
• Develop and maintain departmental procedures and ensure training.
• Perform CAD Designer/Operator duties as needed.
• Attend job interviews and participate in hiring decisions.
• Support CAD Manager in other department duties as necessary.

General Job Summary

To provide support to the CAD Manager on personnel matters and to assist with management and direction of the assigned CAD staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Assists in directing the efforts of the CAD staff including supervision of staff and associated personnel actions.
• Assists in assigning CAD staff to jobs and assists in scheduling. Monitors job schedules and budgets.
• Participates in review/completion process of Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILs) and Request for Engineering Actions (REAIs) as necessary.
• Assists in providing technical support to CAD staff.
• Assists in developing and maintaining departmental procedures.
• Assists in ensuring adequate training for personnel.
• Performs duties of CAD Designer and Operator as necessary.
• Attends job interviews and participates in hiring decisions.
• Supports CAD Manager in other department duties as necessary.
