Job summary

Action Staffing Group is seeking a CAD/Mechanical Designer to create and maintain SolidWorks models and drawings for manufacturing processes in Irvington, NJ. The role focuses on documenting production methods and ensuring CAD data integrity.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience required; recent graduates welcome to apply.
• Must have experience with CAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with drafting required.

Responsibilities

• Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used).

• Create detailed designs with CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Maintain existing CAD data through the SolidWorks PDM (document management system).
• Design diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate process workflows as required.
• Prepare and review rough sketches and review them with the engineering team.
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Create work instructions or other internal production documentation that supports the manufacture of products.
• Support engineering teams from all departments.
