Job description

Gedeon GRC Consulting is looking for a CAD/REVIT Technician-Structural to join our firm. This candidate will possess a strong background in drafting and design, proficiency in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, particularly Revit and AutoCAD, and minimal experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D. The CAD/REVIT Technician-Structural is responsible for assisting the structural department with preparing design documents for structural systems, including technical drawings, details, structural notes, and schedules.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $102,000 annually, pay commensurate with experience

LOCATION: Options of Remote, Hybrid (local to the NYC Metro Area), or in-office at our Syosset NY, Princeton, NJ, or Newark, NJ locations.

TRAVEL: Less than 10% travel required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create 3D BIM models using REVIT with high accuracy.
• Prepare and develop detailed 3D Structural Revit models.
• Develop plans, sections, elevations, and details from 3D BIM models for various project sizes and complexities.
• Annotate, dimension, and detail production drawings in conformance with standards.
• Manage large sheet sets, including revisions and markups; plot drawings to PDF, DWG, or paper.
• Set up and geo-locate multiple models for a single project.
• Understand 3D laser scanning and modeling with point clouds.
• Develop Revit families (non-parametric and parametric).
• Experience with Revit linking across disciplines.
• Thorough knowledge of Revit platform, including model sharing and family creation.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Collaborate with team members for accurate and timely delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. or B.A. with at least 3 years of relevant CAD/structural engineering experience.
• Expertise in Revit Structure is essential.
• Autodesk Certification and training in drafting or building modeling.
• Advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, including AutoCAD Architecture, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Recap, BIM 360, ACC, Navisworks is a plus.
• Understanding of 3D laser scanning and point clouds.
• Ability to interpret construction plans.
• Strong visualization skills for finished products and projects.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple requests accurately in a growing environment.
