Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Digital Engineering Technology Specialist to support, administer, and improve the CAD design environment across Power Delivery projects. You will manage AutoCAD and MicroStation configurations, deploy updates, and collaborate with IT to ensure reliable performance and standards adherence.

The role emphasizes automation, scripting, and process improvement to reduce manual tasks and enhance productivity.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years supporting AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Experience administering CAD standards, profiles, and workspaces.
• Collaboration with IT on software deployment, access, and packaging.
• Strong AutoCAD configuration, profile management, and standards knowledge.
• Strong MicroStation workspaces, worksets, and configuration variables knowledge.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, VBA, AutoLISP, Batch, or C#.
• Experience automating workflows and updating design standards.
• Familiarity with source control, change management, and documentation practices.
• Excellent cross-team collaboration and clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AutoCAD profiles, templates, tool palettes, and related standards.
• Administer MicroStation workspaces, levels, seed files, and standards.
• Support integration of client-specific CAD standards and project requirements.
• Manage deployment and version control of CAD standards and workspace configurations.
• Develop automation tools to improve engineering productivity and deployment processes.
• Create scripts for drawing management, data extraction, batch processing, and reporting.
• Provide advanced support for AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related tools.
• Collaborate with IT to resolve deployment, performance, and compatibility issues.
• Document automation tools, scripts, and support procedures.
• Lead or support testing of software updates and workspace changes before deployment.
