Job summary

Clayton Homes (New) is seeking a CAD Technician to produce prints using AutoCAD for layout diagrams, schematics and construction documents, and to submit plans in compliance with serialized orders, codes, and company standards.

You will collaborate with production and sales teams to resolve print discrepancies, prepare plans for new structures, and support ongoing improvements across the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, degree in drafting preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with and general knowledge of construction standards.
• 2+ years of experience using CAD systems.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• General understanding of construction standards and familiarity with building codes.

Position Summary

The CAD Technician is responsible for producing drawing files for production and submitting plans by following the serialized orders, state codes and company standards. This position will work with the production line personnel to perform root cause analysis on print discrepancies.

Physical Demands

Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc. Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others. Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment. Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
